Workshops and Classes at EVOLVE Movement in Raleigh, NC::

Friday, June 16th ~ Sweet & Savory Yoga Asana from 7:30-9:30pm:: Students will be led through an intelligent sequence with skillful bio-mechanics that invites them to trust their own intuition and experience. Participants will gracefully engage and expand their bodies, minds, and hearts through a balanced practice that creates an overall sensation of steadiness, clarity, and freedom. This workshop will explore a more grounding side of the yoga spectrum, incorporating fluid movement with partner work as well as standing postures, hip-openers, twists, and quieting poses to create harmony within and without.

Sunday, June 18th ~ Nurture & Shape-Shift from 1:30-4pm:: Practitioners will learn to effectively and therapeutically deepen their asana practices, working with the whole body to create transformation from within. The build toward the Summer Solstice can be a time of fire and intensity, yet this practice will blend cooling and quieting energies with heating and enlivening approaches to create an equanimous experience that continues off the mat. Students will dive deeply into skillful bio-mechanics in standing postures, hip-openers, hand-balances, inversions, and forward folds, working individually and together to support optimal movement, breath, and Being.

Wednesday, June 21st ~ Solstice Celebration from 7-9pm:: This celebratory class will be a time of coming together as a community to honor just how nourishing and transformative the practice of yoga is. Students will affirm the best in themselves and each other, moving through dynamic sequences that build to new vistas and possibilities in well-informed ways. This practice will be opening for the heart and the mind, including dynamic movement, partner work, and the full yoga buffet!

Thursday, June 29th ~ Assisting & Adjusting from 2-4pm:: Participants will learn to safely and effectively guide their students into optimally aligned asanas. This workshop will include a brief warm-up, then give participants the opportunity to deepen their experience and expand their confidence in giving hands-on yoga assists and adjustments. Detailed instruction will be given for a plethora of yoga asana so that students can feel successful, strong, and open, and teachers accomplished in their ability to help students embody their potential.

Saturday, June 17th

Assisting & Adjusting from 12:30-3pm:: Participants will learn to safely and effectively guide their students into optimally aligned asanas. This workshop will include a brief warm-up, then give participants the opportunity to deepen their experience and expand their confidence in giving hands-on yoga assists and adjustments. Detailed instruction will be given for a plethora of yoga asana so that students can feel successful, strong, and open, and teachers accomplished.

Balancing the Elements with Asana from 3:30-5pm:: Students will be led through an intelligent sequence with skillful bio-mechanics that invites them to deepen their understanding of the 5 elements, and how they work within each individual. The practice of yoga is and has been a tool for refining one’s approach to oneself and to life. Here, participants will hone their ability to engage with the elements — earth, water, fire, air and space — to connect with the experience of balance, harmony, and well-being. This practice will include dynamic movement, partner work, standing poses, hip and heart openers, inversions, twists, and forward folds to leave students feeling open, revitalized, and clear.
